dear colleagues,
this year's international systemic functional linguistics conference
is fast approaching.
we hope you are coming to sydney in july, so, some reminders --
*************************************************************************
earlybird registration for the conference ends at the close of april:
this rate expires on 30 April 2012 (5pm Australian Eastern Standard Time).
**for registration online go to:
http://www.fass.uts.edu.au/research/conferences/isfc39/registration.html
and click on the "register now" in blue.
**you can also buy a ticket for the conference dinner on the
wednesday night at the same time. great food, great location - and
great music planned. read more details on the conference dinner at:
http://www.socialsemiotics.org/ISFC39/?p=126&trashed=1&ids=22
[we've lined-up the local linguist-musicians to play on the night as
well, so if you've ever wanted to see peter white, theo van leeuwen,
john knox, devo devram, and ayako ochi together on stage, this is
your chance...]
***************************************************************************
the deadline for submission of reviewed papers for the conference
proceedings has been extended until May 4th--
**to submit your paper for inclusion in the refereed conference
proceedings, check the information which was sent to you when your
paper was accepted for the conference - details on where to send and
how to format your paper are included!
** if you have somehow misplaced the document detailing the
formatting and other conventions required, you may download a copy
from:
http://www.socialsemiotics.org/ISFC39/?p=281
****************************************************************************
those with limited time and resources to attend please note that the
wednesday has been designated 'education day' and a full program of
events for teachers has been planned for that day. if you are an SFL
educator, and you are only coming for one day, make it wednesday,
july 18th.
[the conference dinner is also on that evening, so why not take time
out to get to know others in the field over some food and wine on the
harbour foreshores?]
*****************************************************************************
