Conference announcement: language awareness

Dear all,

We're happy to inform you of the forthcoming 7th International
Conference of the Association for Language Awareness, which will be held
in Lleida (Spain) from 19 to 21 July 2004. Keynote speakers include
Dr.Leo van Lier (Monterey Institute of International Studies, USA), Dr.
Amy B. M. Tsui (University of Hong Kong) and Dr. Jesus Tuson (University
of Barcelona, Spain).

The conference welcomes presentations relating to the exploration of the
means to develop one's language awareness, and evaluation of the
benefits deriving from this, whether through metalinguistic
introspection and reflection, or through mediated explicit knowledge
about language and conscious understanding of how languages work, of how
people acquire, learn and teach languages, how they use them, and are
influenced by them. Intending participants may submit a 200-word
abstract to the conference organizers by 15 October 2003.
