Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Stony Brook University, a campus of the
State University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2005.
Candidates should have an active research program in Second Language
Acquisition, Bilingualism or a closely related field and the ability to
teach Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism at the graduate and
undergraduate levels. Candidates should also be able to offer a range of
other undergraduate courses in linguistics. The ideal candidate would be
expected to maintain an active research program that complements the
Department's strengths in linguistic theory and to contribute to the
ongoing development of the department's graduate and undergraduate degree
programs. Successful candidates will have completed the PhD before
September 2005.
Applicants should provide a CV, a representative research sample, evidence of
teaching ability, and three letters of recommendation. For fullest
consideration, application materials should arrive by November 15, 2004.
