The Ethnic Studies Department at the University of California, San
Diego,
(<http://ethnicstudies.ucsd.edu>http://ethnicstudies.ucsd.edu), an
interdisciplinary department devoted to the comparative, relational,
and analytic study of race and ethnicity, invites applications for a
tenured position at the associate or full professor level. We seek
a scholar of social theory whose work illuminates the impact of
globalization and transnationalism on ethnic and racial communities
in the United States and world-wide. Applicants in any social
science or humanities discipline working on such broad comparative
topics are welcome, but preference will be given to those studying
language, discourse analysis, and/or the role of narrative in the
construction of difference, inequality and power. A superior record
of publication and research, teaching excellence, and public service
are required.
