The American Society of Geolinguistics announces its 2005 international conference on
The Geolinguistics of Language Teaching

ASG, with the participation of Baruch College of the City University of New York, will
hold an international conference on The Geolinguistics of Language Teaching and will as
usual publish the proceedings of the conference. Topic areas include the place of
language teaching in various curricula; recent innovations in foreign language teaching;
new technologies for language acquisition and use; education policies of cities, states,
and nations; demographics (rural-urban, emigration and immigration, minority heritages) as
affecting language teaching; bilingualism, diglossia, interference, etc.; social dialects
and language education, critical languages in war and peace; teaching and translation
affecting culture and commerce; and language acquisition for the expansion of
communications and business in a globalized world.
