Summer Seminars and Institutes
Some of these grants have previously supported foreign language
programs. "These grants support national faculty development programs in
the humanities for school teachers, and for college and university
teachers. Seminars and institutes may be as short as two weeks or as
long as six weeks. The duration of a program should allow for full and
thorough treatment of the topic…. NEH anticipates that awards for
seminars will range between $45,000 and $120,000 in outright funds for a
grant period of twelve months. Awards for institutes range from $80,000
to $200,000 in outright funds for a grant period of fifteen months." See
the website for more details about the objectives of the grant and the
kinds of programs supported.
