Lullabies help children's language development: study
Dr Ruth Hewston from the University of Warwick in the UK has delivered a paper to a Sydney conference which suggests a structured program of singing to babies may not only help children develop, but could help mothers as well.
"The study was ... working with parents, particularly mothers, encouraging them and really teaching them how to sing with their children, partly to relax children but also to get them to used to hearing vocalisation and verbal sounds to help with their development," she said.
