International Language Conference - 17-18 March 2008
Welcome to an international conference organized by the Independent University of Business, Public Administration and Computer Technology. The conference subject is Teaching English as a second language - seeking most effective methods at different levels. During the conference, we will attempt to answer the questions on English language teaching/learning process, particularly skills development, interaction, communication and progress evaluation.
We invite presentations related to the following areas:
Teaching and learning strategies in the process of particular skills development (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
Assessment of English language teaching/learning process: methods and tools (effectiveness, validity, reliability, practicality).
Teaching professional English terminology (law, economics, medicine, technology).
Distance and online language teaching and learning.
Technology in the language teaching process.
English for specific purposes.
Virtual learning environment.
Teachers' competences and professional development.
Teaching materials.
Any other topics are also welcome.
Speakers are invited for approx. 30-minute presentations (including 10 minutes for questions and comments). Please send a 200-300 - word abstract plus a 50-word note about the author. Include your name, institution, and contact information.
