The Consortium for Latino Immigration Studies at the University of South
Carolina is pleased to extend a call for paper and/or panel proposals around
the theme Latino Immigration to New Settlement Areas: Trends and
Implications.
The conference will be held at the University of South Carolina from October 11-
13, 2007. Researchers in all disciplines are invited to submit proposals
related to the phenomenon of Latino migration and settlement, specifically in
relation to five core themes: Health, Education, Immigration Legislation/Policy
Issues, Economic Issues, and Settlement & Incorporation.
We welcome submission of proposals for individual papers or panel
presentations. Written papers will be considered for publication in conference
proceedings. Co-sponsors and collaborators for the conference include the
University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, and The Center for Global
Initiatives at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
To submit a paper or panel proposal, please send one-page abstracts to Dr.
Myriam Torres (torresme at gwm.sc.edu) or Dr. Elaine Lacy (lacy at sc.edu), or via
mail to The Consortium for Latino Immigration Studies, USC, 730 Devine Street,
