Area ESL Students Face Challenges From No Child Left Behind Act

Some Jamestown Public School district students are being pushed around, at 
least in the eyes of some district and education organization officials.

Susan Wilson, director of remedial and elementary education, said she doesn’t 
believe ‘‘it is appropriate to ask students who have only been in our country 
for a year to take the same assessment’’ as their peers. She said she didn’t 
agree with the government’s requirements.
