Judge refuses to postpone ELL hearing

A four-day hearing on the effectiveness of public school programs for English 
language learners will go forward next week. 

U.S. District Judge Raner Collins on Friday ruled against a postponement. 
Attorneys for the state schools superintendent's office and the Legislature 
argued for the postponement. The plaintiffs' attorney, Tim Hogan, and attorneys 
for the state Board of Education argued against it.
