Ruling on ELL delay to come Monday

A federal judge plans to rule Monday on a request by Republican lawmakers to 
temporarily put on hold his previous order that set a now-passed deadline for 
the Legislature to revamp programs for students learning the English language. 

The Republican legislators and state Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom 
Horne in April asked U.S. District Judge Raner C. Collins in Tucson to stay his 
March 22 order that the Legislature act by the end of its session.
