Learning language through music
WEST GOSHEN One way to teach young people a foreign language, according to
Uwe Kind, a singer and educator, is not only through a textbook, but through
music.
Kind, who has worked with well-known personalities such as comedians Johnny
Carson and David Letterman, put on two performances for hundreds of students
from the West Chester Area School District and neighboring school districts
Monday at East High School. Students were out of their chairs, dancing and
singing simple phrases in five other languages, including Chinese, Japanese,
Spanish, German and French.
