8th International Conference on Language and Development
1 to 3 October 2007

The aims are to:
Discuss and debate matters pertaining to language, education and development;
Identify key areas for collaborative projects and interventions;
Constitute core teams to pursue collaborative projects;
Develop joint working and funding proposals.
Call for Papers
Applications to present papers and to participate from individuals resident in, or
working for, developing countries are especially welcome. Every effort will be made to
secure financial assistance for specialists from poorly resourced and/or post-conflict
and/or developing countries and institutions, who are prepared to make a positive
contribution to global collaborative efforts to address language, literacy, education
and development. Such financial assistance, however, cannot be guaranteed.

Papers should not exceed 30 minutes. Workshop sessions involving joint presenters
should not exceed 120 minutes. In all instances, applications should be accompanied by
a brief CV and an abstract of no more than 300 words.
