The Department of Modern Foreign Languages at Ohio Wesleyan University has a tenure-track position in Spanish Language and Linguistics at the rank of assistant professor. Required qualifications: PhD in Spanish Linguistics by the time of appointment (August 2008). Candidate must have a native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English and be able to teach courses at all levels of undergraduate instruction (language, grammar and linguistics). Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of current methodology for foreign language teaching. Teaching load is three courses per semester (10-12 weekly contact hours).
Qualifications:
Advanced ABD in Spanish (Linguistics) with proof of completion prior to 08/20/08
Teaching experience in language and grammar
Travel or study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country
Requirements/Preferences:
Spanish Linguistics
Native or Near-Native Fluency in Spanish and English
Teaching experience
Ability to teach Foreign Language Methodology
Duties to include:
Teach 3 courses per semester (including Beginning, Intermediate and Intensive Spanish; Advanced Grammar and Romance Linguistics)
