3 states get US aid for teaching foreign languages

 

In the interest of national security, the U.S. government is giving three states money for a new project to teach foreign languages such as Arabic, Chinese and Spanish.

 

The pilot program likely will strengthen national security by improving U.S. relations with other countries and helping new immigrants, said Robert Slater, director of the National Security Education Program in Washington.
