State Govt to Revamp Educational Policy

Jammu, March 01(KONS)- The state government contemplates to have wide
consultation with academicians, educationists, scholars, reputed
professors of universities and educational institutions to revise the
educational policy and make it more pragmatic, market oriented and
modern. This was stated by Minister for Higher Education Mr. Gulchain
Singh Charak while inaugurating 2-day workshop on academic
administration for College Principals here today. The workshop has
been organized by Academic staff of College University of Jammu.Vice
Chancellor of Jammu University Padamshri Amitabh Mattoo, Commissioner
Secretary Higher and Technical Education Mr. Pramod Jain, Director
Academic of Staff College, Prof. Pathania besides Galaxy of
academicians and principals attended the function.

The Minister said "the exercise for adopting new educational policy
has been started adding that it is the endeavour of government to
provide quality and job oriented courses to the student community of
the state". Congratulating the organizers for organizing the workshop,
he said that the experiences which the academicians attain during the
programme would go a long way to inspire the students of the state. He
said that the principals are the best teachers chosen to handle the
affairs of academic institutions besides inculcating quality and value
based education among the youth. The Minister while addressing another
function in the university held in connection with a 2-days national
seminar on the "secular character of Urdu language" said that Urdu
language has always played a vital role in maintaining communal
harmony and brotherhood in the country.
