Cameroon: Institute for Teaching Chinese Inaugurated
In a bid to foster the Cameroon/China relationship a Confucius Institute to teach Chinese language in Cameroon has been created to assist the Chinese community in Cameroon and also Cameroonians.
The institute is situated at the premises of IRIC in Yaounde and an annex centre has been created in Douala situated at the Bilingual School Saint Andre at PK 11. The Confucius Institute was as a convention signed between the International Council for the Promotion of Chinese language, Hanban, and the University of Yaounde II, in partnership with the University of Zhejiang in China.
