10th International Conference of the Association for Language Awareness
July 25th - July 28th, 2010

University of Kassel, Germany
The 10th International Conference of the Association for Language Awareness will give academics the opportunity to exchange ideas on their research projects with respect to language, culture and literacy and the importance of awareness in the field of first, second, third, fourth etc. and foreign language acquisition, teacher training, research in language and culture including the role of language awareness in the workplace.
Call for papers
Academics will have the opportunity to exchange ideas on their research projects with respect to language, culture and literacy and the importance of awareness in the field of first, second, third, fourth etc. and foreign language acquisition, teacher training, research in culture including the role of language in the workplace.
We welcome proposals for paper presentations, colloquia and posters discussing research related to the areas that fit within the theme of the conference. We also welcome proposals for workshops, sharing good practices in relation to any areas that fit within the conference theme.
The main areas are:
* Language Awareness in Language Learning and Language Teaching in multilingual and multicultural contexts
* Language Awareness in diverse Workplaces, such as Business, Marketing, Health etc.
* Language Awareness and the Use of Media
* Cultural Awareness in Language Learning and Language Teaching in diverse settings
* Cultural Awareness in the Workplace, such as Business, Marketing, Health etc.
* Cultural Awareness and the Use of Media
* Language Awareness and Literacy Development in Language Learning and Teaching
* Language Awareness and Professional Literacy Development
The deadline for submission of abstracts (250-300 words) is December 31st, 2009. The submissions will be assessed anonymously.
