UNM 30th Anniversary Symposium

        The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Educational Linguistics Ph.D. program at UNM this fall. To
commemorate this occasion, the educational linguistics students and
faculty have organized a 4 part symposium in which students and faculty
will present their work, reflect on 30 years of educational
linguistics, and discuss future directions. 

September 18: Student Poster Session
October 9: Bilingual Preschool Language Development: Research for Applied Contexts, Janet Patterson & Barbara Rodriquez, Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences.
October 23: Taking Back our Languages: Tribal Language Perspectives on Maintenance and Revitalization Efforts, Christine Sims and Carlotta Penny Bird, American Indian Language Policy Research and Teacher Training Center.
November 13: Celebrating 30 years of Educational Linguistics at the University of New Mexico: Past, Present and Future, Garland Bills, Alan Hudson, Kathryn Manuelito, & Vera John-Steiner, Department of Linguistics and Department of Language, Literacy & Sociocultural Studies.
