Professor Albert Valdman is retiring in June 2015 from his position as Editor of Studies in Second Language Acquisition (SSLA). Cambridge University Press is now inviting applications for the position of Editor. A team of Co-Editors, or an Editor and Associate Editors will also be considered. Final appointment decisions will be made by the Syndicate of Cambridge University Press.
The deadline for applications is July 15, 2014.
SSLA is a refereed journal of international scope devoted to the scientific discussion of issues in second and foreign language acquisition of any language. Each volume contains four issues, one of which is generally devoted to a current topic in the field. The other three issues contain articles dealing with theoretical topics, some of which have broad pedagogical implications, and reports of quantitative and qualitative empirical research. Other rubrics include replication studies, State-of-the-Art articles, Notes and Discussion, review articles, book reviews, and book notices.
SSLA is publishing volume 36 in 2014. Its 2012 Impact Factor was 1.8, placing it 11th out of 162 journals in the Linguistics JCR (ranked by Impact Factor).
