This celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Lau vs. Nichols U.S.
Supreme Court decision will provide participants with the opportunity to
reflect upon this landmark ruling. The historical significance of this case
and the impact on the education of English Language Learners
(ELLs)/bilingual learners nationwide is incalculable. The event also aims
to inspire all members of the educational community to reaffirm their
commitment for all ELLs/bilingual learners in New York State to have access
to an equitable and meaningful education from Pre-K through high school.
