Dear Colleagues,

We are now inviting submissions for UNICollaboration’s recently inaugurated Journal of Virtual Exchange.

Please read below or click the link to download a PDF of the call for papers: https://www.unicollaboration.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Announcement-and-Call-for-Papers.pdf

Announcement and Call for Papers

UNICollaboration, the professional association for virtual exchange and telecollaboration in higher education, is pleased to announce the online, open-access, peer-reviewed Journal of Virtual Exchange (JVE). UNICollaboration hopes that JVE will become the premier transdisciplinary forum for practitioners and researchers in the field of virtual exchange / telecollaboration in higher education. Recognising that virtual exchange is an increasingly widespread practice, the journal welcomes submissions from colleagues in all disciplines in higher education.

Journal of Virtual Exchange aims to support the community of telecollaborative practitioners and researchers by providing a forum for reporting and discussing innovative practice and research. The key conviction behind the journal is that telecollaboration owes its vitality in great measure to the innovative practice, experience-based insights and critical reflections of teaching professionals. The journal aims to be a forum for the exchange of ideas, insights, experience, and theory from practitioners and researchers, with an emphasis on dialogue between theory, principles and practice.

Types of contribution

Journal of Virtual Exchange will publish research articles, keynote articles, and practice reports. Each practice report will be published alongside an invited response from another research/practitioner, offering a complementary theoretical or comparative perspective. In addition, communication. The editors will consider contributions that seek to exploit online affordances in JVE is committed to promoting adventurous exploration of the online environment as a medium for scholarly formats such as audio, video, and multimedia. Such content might include interviews, book reviews, and reviews of tools for virtual exchange.

Publication model

Submissions will be fully peer-reviewed, and will be continuously published: as soon as an accepted

submission is ready for publication, it will be published online. This model minimises the delay between

completion of a manuscript and its availability to the community.

First contributions now online

Full details are on the journal website:

http://journal.unicollaboration.org

Two inaugural contributions are already online: a state-of-the-art review of the field by Robert O’Dowd, and an interview with philosopher Richard Kearney, founder of the Guestbook Project, by Breffni O’Rourke.
