Dissertation/Research Report Supervisors in Applied Linguistics & TESOL

The Applied Linguistics and TESOL team at UCL Institute of Education is looking for sessional dissertation and research report supervisors who can provide specialist advice and support for dissertation students on the MA Applied Linguistics and MA TESOL programmes in one or more of the following topic areas: SLA, language teaching methodology, language teaching materials, bilingualism and multilingualism, language teacher education and development, English as a global language, second language learner and teacher identities, language testing, multimodal communication, CDA, professional/institutional discourse and intercultural communication.



The appointment is offered on a Lecturer Grade 8 level at 0.115 FTE and four posts are available from 1st January to 31st December 2019.



3 days are allocated per dissertation tutee to include all the supervision meetings with tutees from February till submission in September, first marking of the tutee’s dissertation and the second marking of another dissertation. 1.5 days are allocated per Pre-Service TESOL research report supervision and marking. Supervisory meetings should be conducted on campus. Marking will be undertaken in September onwards. It is anticipated that each successful appointee will supervise 10 dissertation students or 15 Pre-Service projects.
