 Re: Benefits of Multilingualism - Infographic

Agree with Meagan’s comments—too much emphasis on the neoliberal/financial gains of being multilingual, even though this may not be the case for heritage speakers in the U.S. Also I really wish they would get rid of the “E” in OELA. So tired of hearing people referred to as English language learners as if that were their only identity, rather than the emergent bilinguals they are with amazing resources in their home languages. Having an office called OELA put forth an infographic on multilingualism pretty much guarantees that English monolinguals won’t pay attention to it.
