[Edling] Call for papers - Distance Education: a brave new world? (20-21 October 2022, online)

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing as one of the members of the scientific committee of a
forthcoming research conference on distance education, to let you know
about the conference and to invite you to submit your paper to the
conference.



The conference, entitled ‘Distance Education: a brave new world?’ will take
place online on 20 and 21 October 2022, and it will be bilingual, in
English and French. It is co-organised with the French National Centre for
Distance Education (*Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance*, CNED) and
the French academic journal *Distance and Mediation of Knowledge* (*Distances
et Médiations des Savoirs, DMS*), with the Open University as the third
co-hosting institution.



The focus of the conference will be the challenges and opportunities of
distance education in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic and of its
aftermath. It will reflect on the diversity of models of distance education
and their relative effectiveness, shortcomings, affordances. The conference
will also focus on the theme of sustainability in relation to distance
education and education policies, and on social justice.
