We are delighted to announce the next in the 2025-26 series of online guest seminars
here in the English subject section at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland -- open
to all!
On 16 March 2026 at 18:00 East European Time, Rachel Weissler, Karina Z. Papp and
Giorgia Cola (University of Oregon, USA) will give a talk titled 'Perceptions of
African American English and a Path Toward Authentic Representation and Diminished
Discriminatory Practices'. The event will be live-streamed online with interactive
Q&A after the talk. All are welcome to attend. Register here:
https://r.jyu.fi/engseminars25-26. You'll then be emailed the live stream info before
the seminar. Meanwhile, slides and videos of our past talks are available there for
you to peruse.
If you can't make it for the live stream, register anyway and I'll get back in touch
afterwards with details of the video recording.
