Dear colleagues,
The American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) is accepting
submission for the 2027 conference from now *until 15 July*. As in the
past, the conference has an Educational Linguistics (EDU
<https://www.aaal.org/EDU>) strand.
Also, there is a new category for the 2027 conference called *Impromptu
Group Presentation*. Inspired by arts-based events (e.g., fiber arts
festivals, tattoo conventions, and hairstyling competitions, among others)
where creators apply their skills on-site, impromptu group presentation is
a provisional category for the 2027 conference that offers a new
opportunity for scholars to collaborate during the conference to apply
their data analysis and communication skills in creative ways. It is open
to research topics pertaining to any AAAL strand. A submitting group must
include at least three individuals: at least two of whom must be from
different institutions, at least one of whom must be a doctoral degree
holder, and at least one of whom must be a doctoral student. The group must
have data available with institutional ethical approvals as relevant to
analyze on-site during the conference and must not have collaborated
previously to analyze them. The group will schedule their own time to work
together during the Saturday and Sunday of the conference to analyze their
data and prepare a 20-minute oral presentation (with an additional 10
minutes for questions) that will be delivered on either the Monday or
Tuesday of the conference.
You will find more details in the call for proposals:
https://www.aaal.org/2027-call-for-proposals
Submissions from Edling List members are most welcome.
Best,
Francis
