CALL FOR PAPERS
Deadline April 1, 2026
“Constructed Agents—From Imagination to Real Interaction” is the theme for the 23rd annual hybrid Technology for Second Language Learning (TSLL) Conference to be held October 15-16, 2026 online and at Iowa State University. This theme combines the humanities disciplines of literary and film studies with the transdisciplinary study of applied linguistics. The goal is to explore how the study of sentient, non-human agents represented in literature and film provides insights into popular understanding of language-generating AI agents today, and how language learners engage with AI agents developed to support language learning and assessment.
