Hello, all,
I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this question, but
I think it might be. Does anyone know where we can obtain financial
assistance to save the life of one of a very small handful of totally fluent
speakers of Kumeyaay, a Yuman language from the border area between
California and Baja California? This person in in the hospital for cancer
surgery with lots of complications, and when she is released in a few days,
there will be no funds for her follow-up care, including nursing,
chemotherapy, etc. She'll probably die. Besides being a human tragedy,
this is a language tragedy. I hope someone can lead us in the right
direction.
Thanks.
