Nearly 200 American Indians are expected to gather near Reno Friday
for the start of the seventh annual Great Basin Native Languages
Conference.
Organizers say the Hungry Valley gathering is designed to help tribal
members preserve their culture and language.
Among others, members of the Washoe, Paiute, Shoshone, Comanche, Nez
Perce, Navajo and Seminole tribes have registered.
