Universities, high schools, libraries, cultural centers: the educational
DVD of Ironbound Films' Sundance hit THE LINGUISTS is now available for
purchase.

THE LINGUISTS is a hilarious and poignant chronicle of two scientists—
David Harrison and Gregory Anderson—racing to document languages on the
verge of extinction. In Siberia, India, and Bolivia, the linguists
confront head-on the very forces silencing languages: racism, humiliation,
and violent economic unrest. David and Greg's journey takes them deep into
the heart of the cultures, knowledge, and communities at risk when a
language dies.

THE LINGUISTS world premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival to
fantastic buzz, blogs, and reviews. "The talk of the town at Sundance,"
headlined Reuters. The only film funded by the National Science Foundation
ever at Sundance, THE LINGUISTS has since screened at more than thirty
festivals worldwide.

The educational DVD includes 30 minutes of DVD extras profiling endangered
languages around the world and efforts to archive and revive them; and a
discussion guide created by Dr. K. David Harrison and the Center for
Applied Linguistics.

DVDs will not ship until December 23, but preorder now to avoid the
holiday rush: http://www.thelinguists.com/dvd.
