Dear colleague,

This email announces a call for papers for our second international conference 
with MERCATOR at the Fryske Akademy.  It will take place on 7-8th April, 2011 
in Leeuwarden, Friesland, the Netherlands, under the general theme of 
'LANGUAGES OF THE WIDER WORLD: RESILIENCE & SHIFT IN REGIONAL AND 
MINORITY LANGUAGES" .  The details for the conference subthemes, 
registration, etc are in the attached document.  The keynote addresses will be 
delivered by Richard Bourhis, Professor of Social Psychology, Université du 
Québec à Montréal, Canada; Ofelia Garcia, Professor of Urban Education, The 
City University of New York, USA; Waldemar Martyniuk, Executive Director, The 
European Centre for Modern Languages, Graz, Austria; Anne Pauwels, Professor 
of Sociolinguistics, SOAS, University of London, UK, Miquel Strubell, Executive 
Secretary, Linguamón & U.O.C. Chair in Multilingualism, Barcelona, Spain.

I would be grateful if you could pass on this call to interested others.  Please 
also note that the deadline for submission of abstracts (250 words) is 10th 
January, 2011.  Abstract should be submitted to mercator at fryske-akademy.nl
