Dear all,
Does anyone knows how to change the name of file in a list to call up
stimuli? The stimuli has to change according to the condition they are in.
I am doing an experiment that is presented in two phases. In the first
phase, I am using 12 different neutral faces. Faces are located into 5
different conditions (HG,LG,HL,LL,N, with two faces in each condition
(i.e. HG1, HG2, LG1, etc...) except in the N condition that has two
pairs(N1, N2, N3,& N4).I have counterbalanced the stimuli in 12
different conditions, (i.e. in condition 1 face M01 is assigned in HG
and in condition 3 same face M01 is assigned to LL condition). This part
of the experiment is done and it works fine.
My problem occurs in the second phase of the experiment. Here I am using
the same12 stimuli with five different intensities of emotion (morphs
from neutral to expressive) by two different emotions (happy and angry,
so called M01Hap_01.bmp, M01Hap_02.bmp, M01Hap03.bmp, M01Hap04.bmp and
M01Hap_05; M01Ang_01.bmp, etc.. ) (a total of 120 different pictures).
The task consist in presenting two faces simultaneously to choose one
over another. The presentation is NOT random and has an specific
combination. I would like to create a some kind of list that calls the
HG1 and N1, HG2 and N3 etc.. for example [HG1]Hap_01.bmp. I have already
created an script where according to the counterbalancing condition,
HG,LG,HL,LL,N are assigned with the name of the file:
Case 1
HG1="M04"
HG2="F07"
LG1="M05"
LG2="F08"
etc..
Case 2
HG1="M10"
HG2="F15"
etc...
Untill Case 12
My problem is that I dont know how to call a stimuli and changing its
name according to the condition. I am not very familiar with programing.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Julia
