That's an interesting problem and not one I'd actually know how to
solve in e-prime. It may be possible that one of the experts in this
group can give you a solution using just e-prime.
But, I would solve it by splitting my sound files in two pieces. 500
ms first section, and allow some prerelease time for the image which
I'd place right after that, then play the 1500 ms second section.
I don't know if that would be possible with the type of .wav files
you're playing, but I don't think it would be noticeable by the
participants. You'd have to test it out.
