Nice question. You can superimpose or overlay a sequence of stimuls
objects (TextDisplay, ImageDisplay, SoundOut, Slide) by judicious use
of stimulus object Frame properties (Width, Height, X & Y Position,
XAlign & YAlign), BackStyle, ClearAfter, and Duration. Note that
each stimulus object in the sequence could also have its own Input
Mask, which could make for some interesting subject input options
(and don't forget about Extened Input, as covered in Appendix C of
the User's Guide that comes with E-Prime). I threw together a little
program to demonstrate this, which I will send you separately (or if
someone can send me instructions, I will add my demo to the files on
the Google Group site).
(BTW, if Harold Mouras is still tuned in, this answers a question
that you posted back on 24 Jun 2008 under the heading "Surimposition
of several images under e prime", which has been in my todo pile since then.)

Not sure what you mean by "linking" a text display to a sound, and if
I did I would probably not know how to do it anyway, so I must leave
this one to someone else.
