some questions about inline and answer box!!!!!

i am an E-prime starter and i have some basic questions in staring out
E-prime..
what are  the functions of inline and how do i use it ? i read the
guideline several times but i have no idea..
plus, when producing answer box via inline, do i type the source cord
just like html ? if not? how do i make the formula ?
i need your big help!! asap !!
