The free, one-hour online event will highlight the first three books in the series: Winkin’s From Erving to Goffman: A Work in Performance? (2026), Leeds-Hurwitz’s Mapping Goffman’s Invisible College (2025), and Goffman’s 1953 dissertation, Communication Conduct in an Island Community (2026, with an introduction by Winkin)—all diamond open access. Leeds-Hurwitz and Winkin will speak about the backstories of their books, with Winkin adding details about his visit to Unst, the Scottish island-site of Goffman’s dissertation fieldwork.
