gender question, urgent

I am the former librarian for a healthcare consulting firm in the US. There
has been considerable coverage of this topic in the New England Journal of
Medicine in the last several years. They have written on both gender and
racial bias in research. The articles will have extensive references as
well. There is also a group within the NIH which studies this
