Other metaphors of communication

Chiming in: Is there any sense among list lurkers that there might be some
typological connection between communicative metaphors and, say, how a
language and culture map demonstrative/deictic space, i.e. either as from the
p.o.v. of a body as container versus the natural environment? Such a linkage
might hint at the inversion of form/content at several levels. Just a thought.
