Dear Shannon,

I would recommend that you ask your department to solicit letters from  
one or two experts in Salishan who can evaluate the current and  
potential contribution of the database/archive to the field.  The  
letters from the department to these evaluators could specifically  
mention the database and the department's interest in evaluating its  
status and potential contribution.
