Ron,

Most of what you said made sense to me. I am not familiar with the revival 
of Arabic and would be happy if you posted a link for all us Funknetters 
on this topic. It makes sense to see different versions of the langauge as 
gradient.

One thing you said, though, struck me as weird. "Despite the right-to-left 
direction...." You're not seriously suggesting that RTL or LTR makes a 
difference in ease of reading, are you?
