dreams of a journal

Is the journal "Language, Gender & Sexism" that keeps being mentioned in
this discussion the Australian "Working Papers in LGS"?
If so, are either of the founding editors, Anne Pauwels or Joanne
Winter, out there lurking on this list?
I'd like to know how they might feel about that publication (which
they've worked so hard to sustain over the last decade or so, and which
does have a fairly faithful readership) were to go to a larger publisher
with its distribution network, get a larger editorial and review board, and
a statement of purpose that makes it clear what articles it is interested
in (yes, often sexism in language in recent years, Alice, but that kind of
reflected Pauwels' main area of research at the time).
I feel like this might be a good/nice way of putting our money
where our mouth is on the question of the international nature of GALA
(i.e. let's not ignore the colonies, shall we?), as well as providing some
support and recognition to people who have been working in the trenches for
some time.
Of course it all depends on what Pauwels and Winter might have to
say about this, but it's just a thought.
