"Transgressions" could be a key word for you to search for the
confessions.

Also please look at self-presentation styles in politics. (A. Schutz
has a good article on this topic). They may give you clues lies on
stigmatized actions and negative behaviours that the speaker
involve in ( Politicians!!)
