inquiry about flirtatious language

Hi Mary-
I've had students ask about this in my language and gender classes several
times, and I've never had a really good answer, since I don't think anyone
has really investigated this.
BUT, in my paper in JLA 2001 No. 2 ("Now I Gotta Watch...") there is some
of just this kind of banter between Pete and Jen. I wish i had analyzed
the flirting aspect more, but these data might allow Sonke to start
thinking about how to approach it.
If Sonke has questions about the conversation she can email me directly.
