Veronika Koller sent this to me and asked me to forward it to the list
in case her posting did not go through. Thank you Veronika. This looks
promising.

Dear Alice,
How do we reframe the arguments against same-sex marriage that include
notions like the "sanctity of marriage?"
I have lately been researching the discourse of conservative gays and
lesbians for a book project. Their largest representative body, the Log
Cabin Republicans, campaigns vigourously against the federal marriage
amendment (including TV commercials etc.) and frame the issue as
"defending the Constitution"
(http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/defendconstitution.html). A case of
the GOP being hoisted by their own petard??
Best,
Veronika Koller
P.S.: I've had trouble posting to the list recently, so perhaps you
could kindly forward my reply. Thanks.
