forward from Sara Mills: IGALA 4 conference Fes, Morocco

Dear all,
Just to clarify the issue of the connection between Palestine and the IGALA conference, the political situation in Morocco in
relation to the issue of Israeli actions in Palestine means that if international conferences are organised in Morocco, they need
to exclude Israeli academics, as a protest. The Executive made the decision that because IGALA is an international organisation,
it could not be involved in such exclusions, and for this reason, the conference will regrettably take place elsewhere.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious about the connection between the war crimes committed by Israel in Palestine and a
gender and language conference in Morocco. Can anyone who is in the know elaborate on this?

Thanks,
Uri
