GENDER AND LANGUAGE & IGALA membership

We are delighted to announce the publication of the first issue of GENDER
AND LANGUAGE.  This first issue addresses the theme of "Unanswered Questions
and Unquestioned Assumptions in the Study of Language and Gender" (table of
contents attached).  This issue is available, at a slight discount, for
classroom use.

Subscriptions include a one year membership in the International Gender and
Language Association (IGALA) (http://www.stanford.edu/group/igala/). The
on-line election for new officers for IGALA is continuing through Feb. 12th.

We have received several requests for assistance in gaining access to a
subscription from scholars in countries with currency restrictions.  If you
are interested in supporting such a subscription, please contact me.
