Dear GALA list members,
For those of you who were unfamiliar with the acronyms used in my last
email, SLA stands for the "Society of Linguistic Anthropology" and AAA
for the "American Anthropology Association." The November conference
is the AAA's annual meeting, which this year will be held in Washington
D.C.
If you'd like more information about the AAA, you can find it at
http://www.aaanet.org/. For more information about the SLA, see
http://www.aaanet.org/sla/ or the new blog site
http://linganth.blogspot.com. The SLA also sponsors the _Journal of
Linguistic Anthropology_, whose web address is:
http://www.aaanet.org/sla/jla/jlamain.htm.
Many thanks to Miriam Meyerhoff for reminding me that some of you may
be unfamiliar with these organizations (and their corresponding
acronyms)!
Best,
Kira
