The British Association of Applied Linguistics (BAAL) Gender and
Language Special Interest Group (SiG) will be holding a seminar on the
topic of ‘Language and Gender in African Contexts’ on Friday Nov. 14
2008, at City University, London. (We may also use Saturday Nov. 15 to
discuss follow-up projects, but participants will have to arrange their
own overnight accommodation.)
 
Registration is £10.00 (salaried participants) and £5.00 (students).
This includes lunch and refreshments on the Friday.
 
If you are interested, please contact Jane Sunderland
(j.sunderland at lancs.ac.uk). There may be a small bursary available to a
participant travelling from Africa, and also one for anyone travelling
within the UK whose institution will not cover their costs.
